INSURANCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PROTECTION POLICY FOR APPLIANCES CONNECTED TO AN INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM UPS DEVICE
INFOSEC guarantees the original end user that the UPS, as of the date of purchase and for its useful life, will not show any design, assembly or manufacturing defects and that any defective UPS will be repaired or replaced free of charge, at his convenience (please,note that this policy is not the UPS warranty).
This coverage is effective upon the sole condition that the device had previously been registered and that this registration was done within 10 days of the date of purchase.
INFOSEC guarantees for a period of two years (not including photovoltaic UPS), under the provisions of French law and limits set out hereinafter, against malfunctions or defects caused by transients on the power supply line (according to standardized norms), on equipment directly and properly connected according to our indications to an INSOSEC UPS SYSTEM UPS device covered by this warranty, provided they remain in the original end user's possession. Any defects or malfunctions caused by transients on phone lines will only be covered by the guarantee if the telephone hardware is already fitted with primary headend protection. INFOSEC guarantees, via a Civil Liability insurance contract taken out with Assurances Générales de France under number 35644890 on behalf of the original end user, the consequences of a failure in the equipment connected directly to the UPS and attributable to it as per the specific limitations detailed in the table below depending on the model of the INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM UPS device.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED :
- Damage due to improper installation, modification or alteration of the UPS, or a connection not made directly to the source via an outlet fitted with an earth connection.
- Damage caused to the connected device if it was not used in normal operating conditions or according to the manufacturer's instructions or labels.
- Damage caused to the electronic equipment by transients on the data transfer lines.
- Recovery of the lost data and software re-installation.
- Damage caused by use of an INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM product for other purposes than those for which it was designed.
- Damage caused by accidents or events such as fire, water damage, theft, storm, hail, snow or natural disasters, war, and vandalism.
- Damage due to normal wear.
- Damage caused by a modification or transformation of the connected device. - Direct or indirect damage resulting from or unrelated to the use of INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM products.
- Loss of software, price of capital, cost of downtime of services and facilities, claims made by third parties including customers and damage to property.
- Damage to equipment not bearing EC certification.
- Any modification of the products connected after the registration of this guarantee on the Web.
ELIGIBILITY FOR COVERAGE :
- You must register for your insurance on the www.infosec-ups.com website within 10 days of purchase by entering all requested information.
- You will need the original sales receipt.
- You must notify us of a claim by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt within 10 days from the date of the accident, including:
- a certified copy of your invoice or sales receipt
- a certificate or document issued by the weather bureau, electricity department or any official agency attesting to the transient overvoltage at the customer's address
- a repair or replacement estimate for the damaged equipment
- coverage eligibility form (see below).
- The INFOSEC customer services representative will then explain how to return your device to:

- These warranties are governed by French law and the buyer agrees to submit to the jurisdiction of the Trade Courts or Arbitration Chambers at Nantes.
PROTECTION POLICY FOR APPLIANCES CONNECTED TO AN INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM SURGE SUPPRESSOR
- INFOSEC guarantees the original end user that the surge suppressor, as of the date of purchase and for its useful life, will not show any design, assembly or manufacturing defects and that any defective surge suppressor will be repaired or replaced free of charge, at his convenience (Please note that this policy is not the Surge Suppressor warranty).
- This coverage is effective upon the sole condition that the device had previously been registered and within 10 days of the date of purchase.
- INFOSEC guarantees for a period of three years, under the provisions of French law and limits set out hereinafter, against malfunctions or defects caused by transients on the power supply line (according to standardized norms), on equipment directly and properly connected according to our indications to an INSOSEC UPS SYSTEM surge suppressor covered by this warranty, provided they remain in the original end user's possession. Any defects or malfunctions caused by transients on phone lines will only be covered by the guarantee if the telephone hardware is already fitted with primary headend protection. INFOSEC guarantees, via a Civil Liability insurance contract taken out with Assurances Générales de France under number 35644890 on behalf of the original end user, the consequences of a failure in the equipment connected directly to the Surge Suppressor and attributable to it as per the specific limitations detailed in the table below depending on the model of the INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM UPS Surge suppressor.
- All INFOSEC surge suppressors have "TYPE 3" standing, and meet European and International standards: IEC 61643-1, EN 61643-11, IEC/EN 61643-21x
- The electrical installation will be carried out according to the user guide recommendations UTE C 15-443 2004 (or equivalent depending on the country), resulting from the EN 61643-11 or IEC 61643-1 standard.
- INFOSEC surge suppressors are spread over three levels of protection:
- Level 1 offering a maximum protection of 6,500A
- Level 2 offering a maximum protection of 12,000A
- Level 3 offering a maximum protection of 19,500A on 3 lines
- The equipment and hardware connected to the INFOSEC surge suppressors must at least meet the category 1 European standard, in other words, resistance to a 1,500V surge.
- The electrical installation to which the INFOSEC surge suppressors are connected must meet standard NF C 15-100 (or IEC 60364), in other words have been implemented in compliance with legal grounding standards, for an electrical installation equipped with type 2, or even type 1 protection, depending on the geographical recommendations and classification. Furthermore, the malfunctions caused by transients on the phone lines will only be covered by the guarantee if the telephone hardware is already fitted with primary headend protection.
- The original end user must keep the original invoice or sales receipt failing which the guarantee to repair or replace the surge suppressor and connected devices protection policy will be null and void.
- INFOSEC will, at its own convenience, repair or replace at the replacement value on date of loss, any device damaged by voltage transients when it is properly and directly connected to an INFOSEC UPS SYSTEM product covered by this warranty, if INFOSEC determines that the damage was caused by the failure of its products, except the damages listed below. To this end INFOSEC reserves the right to determine the origin of the damage by requesting that damaged equipment be returned to it for inspection. Dispatch and return shipping expenses for the surge suppressor and damaged device for inspection purposes are the sole responsibility of the original end user. The damaged device must remain available for inspection until the claim has been fully processed. INFOSEC reserves the right to be subrogated under any damage insurance policy taken out by the plaintiff. This warranty does not apply to connected equipment powered by other sources except, and without restriction, any manufacturer's warranty and any extended warranty.
- All the warranty herein are null and void if the surge suppressor used at the time of the accident is not entrusted to INFOSEC for inspection purposes and to the original end user's sole expense or if INFOSEC concludes that the:
- surge suppressor was improperly installed, modified or altered in any way whatsoever;
- malfunctions or defects are not due to the accident or that in fact no accident occurred;
- repair or replacement are covered by a manufacturer warranty;
- connected devices were not used in normal conditions of use.
